A Different Voice — A Necessary Choice

This year, 9 candidates are contesting for 8 seats on the MICPA Council.

Eight come from large accountancy firms. I stand alone — an independent, non-practitioner, and academic.

This is more than an election.

It’s a turning point for MICPA.

We need a Council that represents all contributors to our profession — educators, SMEs, students, and independent voices — not just the largest firms.

What I Bring to the Table

✔ Over 40 years of service in accounting education, public policy, and professional development

✔ Insight into Malaysia’s accounting reforms — past, present, and future

✔ A lifelong advocate for equity, public interest, and homegrown professional excellence

My Vision for MICPA

1. Inclusive Professional Growth

Champion opportunities for students, SMPs, educators, and underrepresented voices in the profession.

2. National Sovereignty in Qualification

Strengthen Malaysia’s own competency-based pathways and reduce dependence on foreign routes.

3. Bridging the Gap

Forge stronger partnerships between academia and industry to shape professionals who are globally competent and locally grounded.

4. Integrity in Governance

Push for transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in every Council decision.

Let’s Rebalance the Council. Let’s Reform MICPA.

MICPA belongs to all of us — not just the few.

Let’s ensure every voice is heard.

Vote for Representation. Vote for Reform.
